High Pressure Drain Jetting Sydney
High pressure jetting for Sydney drains that coat up with grease, silt or sludge. The nozzle scours the full pipe wall rather than punching a hole through the middle, which is why it suits grease and scale rather than a single solid obstruction. Book a jetting job, or call and we will confirm it is the right method for your line.
Jets face backwards to scour behind the nozzleWhat drain jetting actually does
Four things that explain both why it works on a coated line and why it is the wrong tool for a root mass.
Water, not a blade
A jetter uses water at pressure through a shaped nozzle. There is nothing mechanical travelling down the pipe, which is why it can clean a full run without working against the pipe wall the way a cutter does.
The nozzle pulls itself along
Most of the jets face backwards. They drive the hose forward and scour behind it as it goes, so the line is cleaned on the way in and flushed on the way out.
It strips the wall, not a channel
This is the difference that matters. Rodding through grease opens a hole that closes again within weeks. Jetting takes the coating off the pipe wall and restores the full bore.
Checked on camera afterwards
A clean line is easy to verify, and a line that still will not clear after jetting is telling you the problem is the pipe rather than what is in it.
When jetting is the answer, and when it is not
The second column is not a disclaimer. Pressure applied to the wrong problem either achieves nothing or makes a failing pipe worse.
- Fat, grease and soap build-up coating the pipe wall
- Silt, sand and leaf matter in a stormwater line
- Commercial kitchen lines that have coated up over years
- A long run where the whole length needs cleaning, not one point
- Scheduled maintenance on a line with a known history
- A heavy tree root mass that has to be cut out first
- A pipe that has collapsed or dropped out of line
- A solid foreign object better retrieved than driven further along
- A line so damaged that pressure would make it worse
The four jobs jetting does most
Kitchen and food premises lines
Fat goes down warm and sets hard further along where the pipe is cooler. Commercial kitchens coat a line faster than anything else on a property, and jetting is the only method that takes the full thickness back off the wall.
Stormwater pits and surface drains
Silt and leaf matter settle wherever the fall flattens out. Emptying the pit is not enough if the outlet line is still silted, which is the most common reason a stormwater drain floods again at the next storm.
After roots have been cut out
An electric eel removes the root mass. Jetting afterwards clears the debris left behind and cleans the wall, so the camera gets a clear view of the joint the roots came through.
Lines on a cleaning schedule
Planned drain cleaning is almost always jetting, because the point of a schedule is keeping the bore open rather than reacting to a blockage.
Drain jetting, not surface cleaning
High pressure water jetting also describes industrial surface preparation and driveway cleaning, which are different trades using different equipment at different pressures. Nothing on this page refers to either.
What is described here is drain jetting: a nozzle built to travel along a pipe and clean it from the inside. If you need a surface cleaned, we are not the right people and we would rather say so than take the booking.
How the price works
There is no charge for coming out and looking at the problem.
Drain clearing starts at $69. What a job costs depends on the cause and where it sits.
You get the price before any work begins, and nothing goes ahead until you agree to it.
We take calls through the night, on weekends and on public holidays.
Drain jetting questions
Is high pressure jetting safe for my pipes?
On a sound pipe, yes. The pressure is applied to the coating on the wall rather than to the structure, and the nozzle is matched to the pipe diameter and material.
On a pipe that has already failed it is a different question, which is why the camera goes in first. If a line is cracked or has dropped, jetting is not what it needs and you will be told so rather than sold it.
What is the difference between jetting and an electric eel?
An eel cuts solid obstructions out with a rotating head. Jetting scours coatings off the pipe wall with water.
Roots need an eel. Grease and silt need jetting. Where a line has both, the eel opens it and the jetter cleans the wall back properly afterwards.
Is this the same as pressure cleaning a driveway?
No. The equipment, the pressures and the nozzles are built for the inside of a drain line, not for a surface. A surface cleaner has no way of travelling along a pipe or of scouring behind itself.
If what you need is surface or driveway cleaning, this is not the service and we do not offer it.
Will it fix a drain that keeps blocking?
It depends on why it blocks. If the cause is build-up, jetting takes the line back to its full bore and the problem genuinely goes away for a long time.
If the cause is a crack, an open joint or a section that has dropped, the line will block again regardless, and the answer is relining rather than another clean. The camera is what tells the two apart.
Do you jet commercial kitchen lines outside trading hours?
Yes. Most commercial kitchen work is booked outside service so the line is not in use while it is being cleaned. That is arranged under commercial and strata drain cleaning.

If the drain blocks because of what is coating the wall rather than something lodged in it, jetting is what restores the full bore. The camera afterwards confirms it.
